Week 7 Blog

I believe that if educators took an active part in matching technology in the classroom with that used by the students it could be benifitial. Giving the students something that they can understand how to use well would allow them to relate better.

in my opinion, it would seem like a waste to do the whole online chat and texting in the classroom. that would go against alot of school rules banning cell phone use and texting in the classroom. i just find it more of a distraction just because of all the side conversations that would take place and then the teacher would have to deal with that mess.

there are always pros and cons to text based education and face to face education. on the side of face to face, there is alot more interactions with the teacher and questions could be answered fairly fast. the cons are that in the higher levels of education including college, there is some people that just dont have the time to sit in class or the patients to do it anymore. with text based education you can take classes online and at your own pace for the most part. but having answers to questions might take longer and text based classes are a fairly young idea and not alot of people are used to it.

As for podcast, for some people really pay attention to them, but for the most part it would just be a weaker way of delivering the information, but not a bad idea, every little bit helps.

As for myself video games sometimes help me delevop my studying skills. it more allows me to release stress from real life. there really isnt any educational games i play that directly reflect my classes so they dont really work for me. i do agree with the article. i do believe that there are educational games that can better benifit students. my cousins have those types of games and they are pretty smart for there age. however i would limit the games my kids would play just because they need to go outside and get some excrise and not be fat lazy children.
